Make fresh summer style with CrossStitcher’s July issue – out now

Summer’s well and truly arrived, and here at CrossStitcher we’ve been enjoying long days outdoors – in between putting together our super-duper July issue of course!

Our cover star this month is a retro ice cream van cushion in raspberry and pistachio tones. It’s got us remembering childhood holidays camping by the sea…so much fun!

Geometrics are still right on trend – get the look for summer with our aztec-inspired XXL cushion in pastel hues. Just the thing for lounging in the garden! If you’re after more geometrics inspiration, check out our mood board here.

Our electric guitar cushion is the ideal gift for a teen (plus it’s guaranteed to be quieter than the real thing!). We had great fun practising our rock star moves with the cushion, and even got former UK Air Guitar Champ Adam Rees to test it out (see the results here!).

Once we’re done pretending to be Jimi Hendrix, we’re going to head to the beach – thanks to our cute seaside scene, we have an urge to build a sandcastle!

Talking of gift ideas, if there’s a baby on the way in your family, welcome them to the nest with our gorgeous birdie bib, vest and sampler – so adorable!

For a friend’s birthday, our folksy floral bangle is sure to go down a treat. And if you’re always on a last-minute hunt for a card, stitch up our beetles and add free printable greetings to make them perfect for any occasion!

As well as all this, find lots of other great summer makes and inspiring reads in the July issue (280) of CrossStitcher – out now in newsagents, online here and digitally on iPad, iPhone, PC and Mac. Happy stitching!

I have purchased the Cross Stitcher for the free gift that I thought I could give to a friend to do while she was in hospital. It wasn’t until I got it home that I realised on the back of the free gift which you could not read in the shop due to packaging that the chart can be found in copy of Cross Stitcher issue 267. I have not been purchasing this magazine for very long, and therefore I do not have the back dated issue. Does anyone have any ideas of how I can get a chart or even look for a download which has a similar design so that I can still give this to my friend? Thanks

I have a question about the cuff (which I love!). There really isn’t much explanation of how to do the fastener part, or any picture of it from that angle. Any hope of at least another pic?
